It's not menthol-y to where it would make your eyes water, however, especially when the air wafts into your face, it has a wonderful wake-me-up sensation. I didn't notice a lot of improvement in my dark circles, but mine aren't very predominant anyway--besides, I only used it a few times. Not enough to make a huge difference. All in all I really liked this cream."
