- Eye Steppes™ goBrown compact includes Sea Green, Blue Sky, Tan, Forest, and Licorice.
- Eye Steppes™ goGreen compact includes Allure, Iris, Sepia, Slate, and Grape.
- Eye Steppes™ goBlue compact includes Oyster, Rosy, Taupe, Swiss Chocolate, and Smoke.
Suggested Use: First, apply the darkest color in a sideways V with the Eye Contour Brush. Second, use the medium shade to highlight above the iris with the Eye Shader Brush. Third, Use the lightest shade to highlight the brow bone with the Deluxe Shader Brush. Finally, blend well with a clean brush.
Tips: Use shades independently, layer, or blend together. Brush the base powder on the eyelid to even the skin tone for sun protection. Enhance results by spritzing your brush with jane iredale D2O, Balance, or POMMISST.
More Information: All of the jane iredale formulas have multiple benefits for skin. All are safe for acne-prone skin and sensitive skin. They are completely noncomedogenic and allow skin to breathe. They can be used immediately following microdermabrasion procedures and light peels (check with a physician before using any makeup after a laser resurfacing). "I will preface this review by saying that I have found Jane Iredale products to be superior and the quality of the eyeshadows in this kit are no exception. However, I think the concept is better than the execution in the case of this product. I hoped Eye Steppes would be a a convenient eye palette for travel and my usual on-the-go makeup application, but also a way to try a professionally selected palette that I might not have selected for myself.
This compact has an innovative design that I liked, but the magnetic closures are not strong enough and the layers can open easily. The "steppes" rotate open with only the slightest pressure, making this less than ideal for purse carry. This shadow is too pricey to lose to a purse mishap and the individual colors do not appear to be replacable.
I was hoping there would be some instructions included for the non-professionals on how to use these colors to their greatest effect, but there were no tips included. I searched the web extensively and finally found some instructional posts buried within this Jane Iredale blog (http://makeupblog.janeiredale.com.) The tips were helpful, but not for not for those without some experience and a decent set of brushes. "
