jane iredale Amazing Base® SPF 20 is so natural, it’s like an extension of your own skin. This is an incredible loose mineral that is a foundation, concealer, and powder all in one! It has excellent water resistance and is long lasting. Micronized minerals contain concentrated pigments for beautiful, natural color, and this fantastic formula makes your skin feel like silk. Recommended by the skin Cancer Foundation for its sun protecting effects, this mineral formula is great for all skin types, even if you have irritated, acne-prone, or sensitive skin.
Who It’s For: Recommended for all skin types including sensitive or acne-prone skin.
How It Works:
- Titanium dioxide is a pure mineral tinting powder that offers strong protection from UV rays.
- Zinc oxide encourages healing of skin disorders and has antiseptic properties. It is also an antioxidant-rich sunblock that prevents photodamage.
- Mica is a mineral known for containing light-reflecting particles to give skin an even-toned appearance.
- Algae extract is rich in skin-nourishing minerals and detoxifies skin.
Suggested Use: Remove the seal or puncture holes for controlled flow of the minerals. Replace lid, turn upside down and tap. The minerals are now released into the sifter. Cleanse the face and moisturize. Lightly dip each side of a jane iredale Chisel Powder Brush into the minerals. Tap off any excess using the side of the jar. Using the lid, work the minerals into the brush until all powder is absorbed. Apply the minerals in thin layers using downward strokes. If you’ve put on too much, use a Flocked Sponge to remove any excess. Begin application where you want the most coverage, then lightly layer over the rest of the face. Don’t forget your neck.

They can be used immediately following microdermabrasion procedures and light peels (check with a physician before using any makeup after a laser resurfacing). "I would never spend this kind of money on makeup but had faith after all the reviews and the return guarantee. I was NOT disappointed. I have uneven skin and it covers well. It goes on nice and dry without feeling greasy and has an spf which is important to me. I have always worried about purchasing a mineral powder because I didn't think it would cover, but this really does well. My face doesn't end up feeling greasy later in the day which lately has become a problem. It has a very slight sheen to it, but barely noticeable.
