How it works: Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid that occurs naturally in sugar cane. It treats many skin conditions, such as acne, environmental aging and hyperpigmentation. It is noninvasive and lifts the cells in the stratum corneum, which enables glycolic acid to act as a phenomenal resurfacing agent that can immensely improve the appearance of the skin and even reduce the depth of acne scarring. Glycolic acid may also stimulate collagen, increase epidermal volume, and act as a powerful antioxidant and free radical inhibitor. Salicylic acid is a medically endorsed acne medication that treats existing acne lesions and prevents future breakouts.

Suggested use: We recommend starting with Bioglycolic® Acne Gel I, and later increasing to Bioglycolic® Acne Gel II as your skin can tolerate it. Apply to the entire face excluding the eye area. As a spot treatment, apply to an acne lesion until clearing is achieved. Use once or twice daily. May be used in combination with Benzoyl Peroxide. *You may experience mild stinging initially as well as temporary redness and flaking.
